Classes at SDA
We have four intentionally crafted programs at Sherwood Dance Academy:
Jump Start
Introducing dance to children ages 2-5.
Building Blocks
Acro, Ballet, Jazz, & Tap, ages 5+.
Classical
Advanced Ballet & Pointe, ages 9+.
Showstoppers
SDA’s performing company, ages 6+.
Jump Start
• Introducing Dance to Children, Ages 2-5 •
Jump Start a life long love of dance!
Experience joy as you watch your little one explore dance in a safe and nurturing setting. Through a playful and encouraging curriculum, your dancer will have their growing imaginations ignite! Through the use of imagery, story, and music, your dancer will learn about moving their body. While they 'play', they will develop a solid dance foundation.
Class Options: Ballet, Ballet/Tap and Jazz/Acro
Each student shines as their confidence builds.
Each dancer shines as their confidence builds. In a loving, engaging, and compassionate environment, you are pushed to achieve your goals by an instructor who truly believes in you. The lessons learned go beyond the dance steps. Discipline, creativity, personal responsibility, and teamwork are all a part of each class.
Ballet
Jazz
It is faster and freer than most styles but still uses a lot of the same basic techniques of ballet, contemporary, and hip hop.
Tap
Tap is music with your feet. Students learn to articulate the feet with tap shoes to create intricate rhythms and sounds.
Classical

In love with the grace and poise of Ballet, you are the ultimate ballerina. You are dedicated to the idea that great technique shapes dance. This program encourages your passion and inspires you to work hard for your own success. Through perseverance and finding joy in exceptional technical training, you will foster a lifelong love of classical ballet.
Showstoppers

The Showstoppers Program is our Performance Company. These are students who love to perform and are ready to make the commitment to their dance family.
